The 28th annual Taste of New Paltz brings Hudson Valley food, wine and beer tastings, arts, crafts, kids’ activities, live music and entertainment to the Ulster County Fairgrounds on Sunday, September 16 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Two new features are being introduced at Taste 2018: an Apple Pie Contest, with a cash prize plus brunch for two at Mohonk Mountain House being the incentives to enter your best homemade apple pie; and a “people’s choice” contest called Best of the Taste. All attendees will receive raffle tickets as they enter, one for each category of Best Restaurant, Food Truck and Winery/Distillery. As you taste your way through the event, attendees are asked to choose their favorite by putting their ticket into the box at the vendor’s booth (or truck). Winners will be announced at the main stage around 4:30 p.m.
The Taste of New Paltz is a fundraiser for the New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce. The entry fee is $3 in advance and $5 at the gate on the day of the Taste; children aged 12 and under get in free. Food samples cost $3 and $5. Parking at the Fairgrounds, located at 249 Libertyville Road on the west bank of the Wallkill River in New Paltz, is free and ample.
