Science journalist Andrew Revkin to speak about climate change at the Cary Institute

Climate Solutions Summit to be held at SUNY-New Paltz

Award-winning science journalist Andrew Revkin will give a lecture Friday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies. The topic of the talk will be “My Climate Change.”

Revkin will discuss lessons “learned and unlearned” during his 30 years of reporting on climate change – from the North Pole to the Vatican. Now at ProPublicaas a senior reporter for climate and related issues, Revkin was with The New York Times for two decades. From 2010-2016, he was the Senior Fellow for Environmental Understanding at Pace University where he received an honorary doctorate.

Revkin has written on a wide range of subjects including the destruction of the Amazon rainforest, the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, sustainable development, and climate change.  His book, The North Pole Was Here, was a Library Guild selection.

Free and open to the public, the event will be held in the Cary Institute’s auditorium, located at 2801 Sharon Turnpike (Route 44) in Millbrook, N.Y. For more information, call (845) 677-7600 x 121 or visit www.caryinstitute.org.
