The New York Daily News is the latest publication to recognize Saugerties as a destination, giving it top billing over Woodstock and Kingston in an Oct. 6 article.
“Saugerties seamlessly blends its historic charm with a resurgent, creative Brooklynish energy that’s filling the town with lots of great new casual restaurants, bars and shops,” writes Stan Sagner.
Opus 40, Lucky Chocolates, Ophira On The Hudson cruises and fiberflame DIY art studio are each given brief write-ups.
In 2009, Budget Travel dubbed Saugerties one of America’s ten coolest small towns. In 2011, the American Automobile Association’s magazine, Car and Travel, named Saugerties one of four must-see towns for that summer. The Saugerties Lighthouse appeared on the cover.
