The Widow Jane Mine in Rosendale boats a long history as an unconventional performance venue, to be continued now when the Century House Historical Society presents “Bash the Trash!” on Sunday, July 23 at 3 p.m. This benefit for the Snyder Estate’s Century House features the ensemble Bash the Trash, the members of which will show the audience how to make musical instruments out of trash. After a workshop of instrument-building, there will be a musical procession, a performance in the Widow Jane Mine and an improv session featuring the audience’s newly made instruments.
Tickets cost $10 at the door. Children aged five and under are admitted free. For directions and additional information, visit www.centuryhouse.org. The Century House at the Snyder Estate is located at 668 Route 213 in Rosendale.
