State Police are investigating a construction accident earlier this afternoon in Red Hook that claimed the life of a 44-year-old Elizaville woman.
According to police, the woman, Susan M. Coons, was working for Jeff Decker & Son Inc., tasked with leveling a field at 7775 Albany Post Rd. The equipment operator was moving the machine to make a minor adjustment to the blade and noticed that his partner had been struck by the bulldozer. The operator contacted 911 and requested EMS and Police respond to the location.
The victim was transported by Northern Dutchess Paramedics to Northern Dutchess Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is continuing.
