The landscape is littered with the grim career fates of so many American Idol contestants that it’s hard to remember that that’s where Kelly Clarkson first hit the public consciousness. Clarkson’s trajectory has featured many hit singles and awards, it’s not likely that you’ve gone a single week without hearing one of her catchy numbers.
Clarkson performs at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts this Sunday, August 19, headlining a killer radio-friendly bill with the Denver-based guitar pop outfit the Fray, who, like Clarkson, performed during the pre-game festivities at this year’s Super Bowl. The Fray and Clarkson have something in the neighborhood of a thousand hits between them, so anticipate an evening of familiar Top 40 tunes from their own expansive back catalogues.
Kelly Clarkson and the Fray, with support act Carolina Liar, perform at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts on Sunday, August 19, with the show beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $41, $51, $61.50, $71.50 and $97.00 for reserved seating, with $31.50 Lawn tickets also available; thrifty fans may consider a $101 Lawn four-pack.
