Police arrested Darren, J. Olympia, 21, of Newburgh, and charged him with second-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment following in incident yesterday in which he is accused of inadvertently shooting a 21-year-old Marlboro woman in the face.
Police said the firearm, a handgun, was legally owned.
The victim, whose name was not released, was transported to Westchester Medical Center and is listed in critical condition.
Olympia was arraigned before Town of Marlborough Justice Jackson and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of 25,000 cash or 50,000 bond.
