The O+ Festival is holding a forum in Kingston this Wednesday, Jan. 18 to talk about health care issues and options in an uncertain 2017.
The meeting, called the O+ Educate & Activate Healthcare Summit, is set for 7-9 p.m. at Old Dutch Church’s Bethany Hall, 272 Wall St. It’s objective, organizers say, is to “build a sustainable community health care network.” Local health institutions, nonprofits and government representatives will share information about resources, services and insurance, as well as how to best use the community’s voices, votes and wallets to support them.
Panelists include Assemblyman Kevin Cahill, chair of the Assembly Committee on Insurance and member of the Committee on Health; Ruth-Ellen Blodgett, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Mid-Hudson Valley; O+ co-founder Thomas F. Cingel, DDS; Cynthia Kim, director of behavioral science at The Institute for Family Health; insurance expert Renata Marinaro of The Actors Fund; and more.
“O+ is thrilled to bring leaders from the healthcare community (such as Ruth Ellen Blodgett and Assemblyman Kevin Cahill) together to educate and build a response to the looming threat to health coverage we all face,” said festival co-founder Joe Concra.
