Fresh off the success of the annual Holiday in the Village celebration, Saugerties officials are getting ready for their New Year’s Eve in the Village, which takes place December 31 on Main Street from 10:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m.
Inaugurated two years ago as a way of letting local residents celebrate the start of the New Year in the village rather than going to other communities and then having to drive home, officials say this year’s-ending event will be better than ever.
In addition to most of the shops in the village being open, and celebrations in the Main and Partition restaurants and bars, there will also be a ball drop at midnight, a large screen showing celebrations from New York City, local Boy-Scout troops serving coffee and hot chocolate, a DJ providing music, and party favors.
