Recently, Cahill Elementary held a school-wide collection in an effort to help out the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Student Council students delivered empty boxes to each classroom and handed out flyers with items that were needed. During a two-week time period, students brought in various items and placed them in the boxes. Mayor Murphy and Water Dept. supervisor Mike Hopf graciously provided village trucks and transported the goods to Kevin Hinchey, owner of H&H Environmental. Kevin took the goods to parts of the New York City area that were greatly impacted by Hurricane Sandy
