Food pantry volunteers sought

The Saugerties Area Council of Churches Food Pantry is seeking dedicated volunteers. Stockers must be able to lift 30 pounds and distribute food when needed. Food distributors are needed night and day. Training is on Tuesday nights. A person is needed to order food once per month, who must also distribute or stock. Assistant coordinators must be able to follow instructions and direct others. They must learn all facets of the pantry operation, including writing reports on a computer, scheduling workers and generating donations. A deep understanding toward others helps, too. Cleaners are needed, and people to pick-up the food in Kingston once a month, usually on the third Monday of each month at 8:30 a.m. A pickup truck or van is required to bring the food to the pantry.
