On Monday, Oct. 14 at about 7:34 p.m. Saugerties police received a 911 call for a car verses pedestrian accident on State Rt. 32 and Old Kings Highway in the Town of Saugerties.
Upon arrival police found that a 19-year-old bicyclist had been struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on State Rt. 32. The 19-year-old had succumbed to his injuries as a result of the accident. Police identified the bicyclist as Michael Wiley of Kingston.
Saugerties Police were assisted at the scene by the New York State Police BCI, New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Team, Diaz Ambulance & Centerville Cedar Grove Fire Department. The police investigation is ongoing and police are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the accident, to please call police detectives at 845-246-9800.
