The Friends of the Poughkeepsie Public Library District will have a grand opening for its new book store at the Boardman Road Branch Library at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20. The volunteer-run store will offer more than 20,000 books on the shelves, sorted into multiple categories including biographies, classics, cookbooks, children’s and young adults, hard-cover and paperback fiction, history, military, mysteries, religion and science fiction. The shelves will be continuously restocked.
Most books will be priced at $2 each or less; selected special books will be individually priced. VISA, Master and Discover credit cards will be accepted, or you can pay with cash or by check.
The store is located on the south side of the Boardman Road Branch. The Book Store will remain open on Oct. 20 until 4 p.m. Regular hours of operation for the store will be Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, visit poklib.org/friends-of-ppld/
