The Eleanor Roosevelt Val-Kill Partnership and the National Park Service host the third annual Val-Kill Picnic and Square Dance on Saturday, May 30, from 1-4 p.m. The Chefs’ Consortium will once again serve up some boutique traditional Val-Kill Picnic fare, augmented by local farms. Period music is provided by the nationally celebrated local legends Jay Ungar and Molly Mason. Square dancers of all abilities and ages are welcome.
Kids’ activities include Val-Kill Industries demonstrations, face-painting and projects of Val-Kill’s new Junior Ranger program. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $7 for children. Family packages are available as well. Tickets must be reserved in advance and are available at www.honoringeleanorroosevelt.org. The Picnic takes place on the grounds of the Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site (Val-Kill), located at 56 Valkill Park Road in Hyde Park.
