Frida Kahlo on ice in Saugerties

The Boundless Edge Ice Dance Ensemble will perform at the Kiwanis Ice Arena on Sunday, March 25 at 1 p.m. Featured performances will be “Viva La Vida,” a dramatization of the life of artist Frida Kahlo as told through the mediums of ice skating, puppetry, and storytelling; “Volcano,” a depiction of women warriors; and “Celtic Techno,” a fast-paced jump-filled quartet drawing inspiration from Irish step dancing. Featured performers include Olympic competitors in ice dance, Alizah Allen, Patrick Connelly, and Line Hadad as well as members of the Saugerties-based ice dancing ensemble. Cost is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and children, $90 for a group of 10 tickets. Public skating session will follow the performance, with admission of $6 for adults, $4 for students.
