Holiday shoppers at Walmart in the Town of Ulster were met with a tense and alarming scene Monday evening when two knife-wielding teenagers entered the store and confronted an employee, prompting a swift, armed law enforcement response.
In comments made to the Daily Freeman, Town of Ulster Police Chief Kyle Berardi said police responded around 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, to a call describing two males with knives. Police subsequently identified two teens in possession of bladed weapons, both of whom were on probation for “previous violent crimes.”
An unnamed 18-year-old was charged with harassment, a violation. A 16-year-old was not charged.
