The Rosendale Theatre Collective has announced Jesse Heffler as its new Managing Director, effective October 20. Heffler succeeds Rob Leitner, who had held the position since fall 2023. A Hudson Valley native, Heffler most recently served as Director of Programs and Operations at GARNER Arts Center in Rockland County, where he led efforts in fundraising, marketing, volunteer coordination, and programming for a variety of arts and cultural events.
Heffler brings to the role a diverse background in independent film and contemporary performance, including work with Beth Morrison Projects and the Fisher Center at Bard. He holds an MFA in Theatre from Sarah Lawrence College and has lived in the Kingston area since 2017. “We were searching for a fresh perspective, and it really helps to have someone who is from our area,” said Laurie Giardino, President of the Rosendale Theatre Collective’s Board of Directors.
Calling the Rosendale Theatre “a jewel in the crown of Ulster County’s cultural landscape,” Heffler shared excitement about his new role and the theatre’s future. “The audience here is adventurous, engaged, and invested in growth,” he said. “We will continue striving for excellence in creating one-of-a-kind, envelope-pushing theatre-going experiences.” For more information and upcoming events, visit rosendaletheatre.org.
