On October 17, the Kingston Police Department launched an investigation into a burglary that had taken place several weeks earlier at the former Paulie Boy Hero Shop located in Kingston Plaza. Authorities allege that two brothers, 29-year-old Amgad Saif and 26-year-old Younis Saif, both residents of Lake Katrine, unlawfully entered the now-closed sub shop and removed a deli cooler valued at over $1,000. The stolen equipment was reportedly transported to their business, First Capital Mart, situated at 85 Murray Road.
As part of the investigation, Kingston Police executed a search warrant on October 29, at First Capital Mart. During the search, officers located the stolen cooler and took both Amgad and Younis Saif into custody. Following their arrest, both men faced multiple felony charges, including third-degree burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny, and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
After being processed, the brothers were held for arraignment in Kingston City Court. They were subsequently released on their own recognizance pending further court proceedings.
