The recent rise in violent crime in midtown Kingston continued as police announced another shooting, this time “in the area of Liberty St. and Prospect”.
Police did not share details of the shooting, other than to ask residents to “avoid the area as the investigation is continuing”. It is currently unknown whether there were any injuries. The announcement was made on the morning of Wed., Sep. 24, but police did not say when the shooting itself occurred.
Shots were fired three weeks ago a few blocks away from the most recent incident. No injuries were reported in that shooting, and no arrests have been made.
There were also two knife attacks in the same area within the last several weeks — a 27-year-old Kingston resident was arrested on Aug. 22 for allegedly attacking a 19-year-old on Aug. 13.
On Sep. 13, an 18-year-old male was stabbed and injured in the same general area.
