This Sunday, September 7, at 3 p.m., St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church on Route 212 east of the hamlet of Woodstock will be the locale for  a performance by 14-year old Taige Wang, an award-winning pianistic prodigy who will play works by Chopin, Back and Lizst. This will mark the seventeenth year of a program at St. Gregory’s that has hosted young talent from The Juilliard School.
A genuine prodigy, Wang has won numerous awards in piano competitions in Los Angeles and Chicago, has received recognition in the finals in the Cliburn and Aspen events, and has played for concerts at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center as well as China’s Henan Grand Theater. Wang is also a composer. His piano trio Chopin vs. Chopin 2.0 was first performed in Alice Tully Hall two years ago.
The concert is free to the public. Donations are appreciated.
