Saugerties resident Cody J. Valenti, 31, was arrested on Wednesday, July 16 after police received a complaint concerning a 2024 RAM 3500 truck and 2022 Cam Superline 20-foot utility trailer being stolen from the vicinity of Cantine Field.
The arrest comes less than a month after Valenti was arrested for threatening police with a knife during a domestic dispute call and charged with multiple felonies.
Valenti was tracked down in Palenville after an investigation and was charged with grand larceny in the second degree and grand larceny in the third degree, both felonies.
After processing, he was remanded to Ulster County Jail with bail set at $25,000 cash, $50,000 secured bond, $100,000 unsecured bond. Police were able to recover the truck, but the trailer is still reported missing.
Valenti has a history of arrests.
In July of 2014, Valenti, then 20, was arrested and charged with four counts of criminal mischief and three counts of harassment following a domestic dispute call where police say he resisted arrest, leading to him being tased.
He was arrested for reckless driving in 2016 after crashing a BMW into a tree in Saugerties. He was also arrested in 2021 for participating in the theft of 15 long guns from a house in Ruby.
