New bar/restaurant Shortie’s is preparing to welcome the public at 81 North Chestnut Street in New Paltz (the old Village Pizza) with their grand opening Friday, June 27. This is the latest venture from the same team that brought Darling’s to Tillson.
Shortie’s food specialty is all-beef hot dogs — a welcome culinary addition for fans of the cylindrical meat, as there are few options for top-shelf dogs in the county. There’s even a “hot dog tower” on the menu featuring 12 mini-dogs, three sides, and three condiments (which include exotics like grilled pineapple salsa, hoisin bbq, and kimchi). Impossible dogs are also available for non-meat-eaters. Sandwiches, sides and some healthier options round out the menu.
Shortie’s will also serve upscale $15 cocktails, including tiki bar favorites. Patio dining will be available for sipping under the sun or stars. And it wouldn’t be a true roadside restaurant without a little soft-serve.
Pinball is also mentioned in Shortie’s slogan, so don’t forget your quarters.
Hours have not yet been announced.
The establishment’s website warns they are first come, first served with limited space for large groups and limited parking, so plan accordingly.
