A luxurious and meaty new enterprise has opened in the former location of Zicatela’s Bar & Restaurant in Saugerties.
Maestri’s Prime Italian Steakhouse aims to create a gourmet dining experience with a high-end menu with dishes comprised of carefully curated ingredients. With yellow walls and dark wood accents, the atmosphere is refined and upscale, tempered by a feeling of warmth and modern-rustic charm.
Maestri’s menu includes entrees like papardelle with wild boar ragout, truffled bucatini cacio y pepe, braised pork shank, chicken saltimbocca, and ahi tuna livornese. They also boast a mouthwatering array of sides, cocktails and appetizers.
Wednesdays, the establishment hosts a special “Roman pasta night” where guests can get some gourmet pasta and a glass of wine for $20. Thursdays feature a “Burger and brew” special, and Sundays are for “Nonna’s Gravy”, with a dish containing meats braised in six hours in pomodoro sauce served over spaghetti.
The restaurant is open 5-10pm every day except Monday, and earlybirds can hop in front of the bar starting at 4pm.
