As temperatures rise and summer settles in, relief is on the way: Kingston’s public swimming spots are officially reopening—right in time for the heat.
Kingston Point Beach will welcome swimmers starting Wednesday, June 25, while the beloved Andretta Pool and splash pad reopen their gates on Saturday, June 28.
The beach will be open Wednesdays through Sundays from 10:00am to 4:45pm, but only when lifeguards are on duty. In a new safety update, motorized boat launches will no longer be allowed from the ramp at Kingston Point Beach, due to its close proximity to the designated swimming area.
Andretta Pool will also be open Wednesdays through Sundays, with hours varying daily. There’s no entry fee this season, making it an easy, affordable way to stay cool. The pool will be closed to the public on Mondays and Tuesdays for summer camp swim sessions.
Both the pool and beach schedules are posted at https://kingston.recdesk.com, and updates—including weather or staffing-related closures—can be found on the Andretta Pool & Kingston Point Beach Facebook page. For questions about swim lessons or water safety, reach out to aquatics@kingston-ny.gov.
