On the evening of June 2, New York State Police from the Kingston barracks stopped a 2010 Infiniti traveling north on Interstate 87 near Exit 19 in the town of Ulster after observing several traffic violations.
The vehicle’s driver, identified as 35-year-old Peter A. Fabregas of Yonkers, was the only occupant. During the stop, a police K9 named Scotty conducted an exterior search and indicated the presence of illegal substances inside the vehicle.
A follow-up search of the car’s interior led to the discovery of approximately 322 grams of cocaine. Fabregas was arrested without incident and taken to the Kingston State Police barracks for processing.
Authorities charged Fabregas with multiple drug-related offenses, including first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, classified as a Class A-I felony, as well as third- and fourth-degree criminal possession charges, which are Class B and Class C felonies, respectively. He also faces various traffic violations.
Fabregas was arraigned the following day in the Town of Ulster Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail. The investigation is still ongoing.
