The Saugerties Police department reported the arrest of a 14-year-old male on May 27 after responding to a 911 call about a dispute.
After police arrived to investigate, the juvenile in question tried to escape on foot and was promptly caught by police, who charged him with resisting arrest (a misdemeanor).
Police say the juvenile subsequently “struck another person and attempted to grab an electronic control device from an officer”, which earned him felony charges of menacing a police officer and grand larceny 4th, and the misdemeanors of criminal possession of a weapon 4th, menacing 3rd and resisting arrest.
The 14-year-old was processed at the Saugerties Police Department and released with a court appearance ticket.
