This might be one of the last announcements of a business closing at the beleaguered Hudson Valley Mall — there just aren’t that many entities left to go out of business.
The latest “ghost mall” victim is the United States Post Office, which recently announced it would be permanently closing its Town of Ulster location as of May 29th, 2025. All mail activity will subsequently be directed to the Kingston Post Office located at 90 Cornell Street.
While no specific reason for the closing was given in the announcement, the USPS has been undergoing significant restructuring efforts nationwide in light of major financial challenges.
