Known for their grilled sandwiches and comfort food, New Paltz restaurant Melted announced they would be closing up shop in a Facebook post today.
“2024 was a year of challenges, losses of people close to us, diminished health of ones we care about and personal and professional setbacks,” the post read. “If we disappointed you, we’re sorry. New Paltz is a wonderful community always showing love and support and honest feedback.”
Many New Paltz locals remember Melted’s 255 Main Street location as Taco Shack, which served the area for decades before transforming into to Smash Shack in 2022. Melted announced their opening in January of 2024.
Melted’s closing announcement ended: “Remember, a bad day can always be fixed by a warm grilled cheese and nice bowl of tomato soup!”
