The top priority of William Gottlieb Real Estate is to support a thriving Kingston. As stewards of properties on Wall and North Front street, we have been deeply alarmed by the City’s ongoing neglect in maintaining the city-owned Pike Plan canopies and therefore have been vocal advocates for their restoration. We have attempted to meet and speak with the Mayor on many prior occasions about this issue, but our requests have always gone unanswered. In response to this advocacy Mayor Noble has instead proposed to demolish this iconic part of the streetscape and an essential part of the urban character of Uptown Kingston. Our primary objective in organizing support for the Pike Plan has been and continues to be the preservation of one of the most defining features of our City’s historic Uptown district.
Mayor Noble’s unhinged and defamatory statements about our company miss the point entirely. This isn’t about us. A multitude of people have spoken out and signed a petition in support of the Pike Plan. This fight is about the future of Kingston and preserving this historic treasure.
