For over 90 years, Santa has been arriving in Woodstock on Christmas Eve, each time in a new and wonderful way. The Village Green is transformed into a holiday postcard scene. A huge Christmas tree is decorated with hundreds of lights, music fills the air. This year, the Grinch was heading out of town stealing Santa Claus who was stuffed in a big wrapped gift box, when Woodstock police showed up and arrested the big green Grinch and took him away — to the delight of screaming little kids — and then Santa popped out of the box with confetti flying in the air.
