Congregation Emanuel of the Hudson Valley will host one of the final Kingston mayoral debates this Thursday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. Co-sponsored with the League of Women Voters, the debate will feature two of the three candidates running for the four-year term.
Appearing will be Democratic incumbent Mayor Steve Noble and Vince Rua, running on the party line of the Serve America Movement. Republican candidate Ellen DiFalco was invited to attend but chose not to participate.
Noble is completing his first four-year term as mayor. His record has included a freeze on the city’s annual tax levy and a major increase in state and federal grants to pay for several municipal projects.
Rua is the founder of a custom clothing business who formerly served on the city’s Republican Committee. Rua has been campaigning on several issues, including street repair and job creation.
The public will have the opportunity to ask the candidates questions during the approximately 90-minute debate.
Congregation Emanuel is located at 243 Albany Ave. in Kingston.
