The Kingston High School (KHS) Tiger Marching Band took first place in its division last Saturday evening at its first state Field Band Conference competition of the season in Schenectady. Nearly 200 KHS band students took the field in uniform and costumes to compete with their show, “Chasing Time.” The band is directed by Stephen Garner and Jeffrey Giebelhaus, with visual design by Nick and Carol Avossa and Hernan DelAguila,
The marching band will perform their show at four more field band competitions across the state this fall. It will perform at the halftime show during the KHS homecoming football game on September 27.
On October 20 Kingston High will host its own band competition, “Fall Fanfare,” at Dietz Memorial Stadium. Seven area high school bands will participate in competition and exhibition.
The KHS Tiger Marching Band is one of the largest scholastic marching bands in the state.
