The Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical A Night with Janis Joplin celebrates the legendary ’60s powerhouse vocalist and her biggest influences, such as Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Odetta, Nina Simone and Bessie Smith. Joplin’s tragically short career yielded a strikingly large number of classic songs and unforgettable performances, captured in this award-winning show. A Night with Janis Joplin comes to the Ulster Performing Arts Center in Kingston on Saturday, September 21. This full Broadway touring production has a cast of 14 including the onstage band, and features Mary Bridget Davies in the role of Janis Joplin, for which she received a Tony nomination.
