Robbie Dupree & Friends, featuring special guest Cindy Cashdollar on lap steel and Dobro, will perform a show at 7 p.m. Sunday, September 22 at Levon Helm Studio, 160 Plochmann Lane, Woodstock.
“It’s an honor and a joy for us to be back at Levon’s. It’s been seven years since we performed there, says Dupree, who will bring longtime bandmates Peter Bunetta on drums and Rick Chudacoff on bass, along with guitarist Tony Pulizzi, keyboardist Bette Sussman and Manuel Qunitana on percussion. The opening act — Anthea White and Mark Palmer known as the Hipstones, an Australian duo who now live in Kingston — will also perform background vocals for Dupree’s show.
Grammy winner Cindy Cashdollar will add her ultra-special slide sounds and extraordinary musical touch to the show.
Dupree’s classic hits, Steal Away and Hot Rod Hearts continue to get airplay and are in demand at his shows, but Dupree’s career, through more than a dozen recordings, most with original material, continues to thrive. Concert performances with his band and special guest appearances with Atlanta’s Yacht Rock Revue keep him doing what he loves as Robbie’s musical journey continues. His newest recordings, Ordinary Day and the soon to be released Audio Graffiti add to a legacy of more than 40 years of making records.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m. and this special Sunday show begins at 7 p.m. Reserved seating is $45, standing room is $30, and tickets are available at levonhelm.com.
