Yesterday evening at about 9:20 p.m. officers from the Kingston Police Department responded to the area of Downs Street at Foxhall Avenue for the victim of a gunshot wound.
Upon arrival, officers found an 18-year-old male of Kingston with a gunshot wound to the abdominal area. He was immediately transported by ambulance to the Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital for treatment. He was treated and later released from the hospital.
The investigation into the shooting determined that the victim was shot while he was returning to an address on Downs Street between Foxhall Ave.and Wiltwyck Ave. with three other individuals. No one else was struck.
At this time, police do not believe this to be a random act of violence. The shot appears to have been directed at the individual or group he was with.
