Kingston Police responded to a reported bank robbery at around 10 a.m. this morning at Rondout Savings Bank on Broadway. Bank employees told police the suspect was still standing outside the bank in the parking lot.
Police arrested Saeed Vahedi, 66, without incident, recovered the money and charged him with third-degree robbery and fourth-degree possession of stolen property.
Vahedi was arrested in February for making a threat against the HealthAlliance hospital system and previously served time on prison for sale of a controlled substance and robbery.
