Augmented by the Vassar College Choir and Capella Festiva under the direction of Christine Howlett, the Hudson Valley Philharmonic performs the Mass in B minor, J. S. Bach’s final work, on Saturday, April 13 at the Bardavon. Composed at various times throughout his prolific career and finished in 1749, the year before his death, the great Mass is a complete musical setting of the Latin Mass: a surprising move by the Lutheran German composer.
Ticketholders are invited to a pre-concert talk by Maestro Fleischer with soloists and members of the orchestra one hour prior to the concert. Tickets cost $20 to $57, based on location.
