The Jazz Bastards, an inventive New York City vaudeville and jazz act featuring New Paltz native Glen Heroy, performs at Unison Arts in New Paltz on Saturday, February 2. The ensemble uses toys, spoons, tap, electronics, and standard jazz instrumentation as sound sources behind the four Jazz Bastard vocalists, playing a weird, musically rich cocktail of standards and original jazz compositions with a vaudeville edge. The Bastards themselves are Matt Kanelos, Aldo Perez, Jenny Mitchell, Nick Parker and Glen Heroy. Ticket prices are $25 general admission, $10 for seniors, with member discounts available.
