The fifth annual New Paltz Eve celebration will take place on Monday, December 31. The Greater New Paltz Community Partnership and the Town of New Paltz have joined together with community members of all ages, local businesses, faith communities and community organizations to host a number of fun, alcohol-free/drug-free community activities for all ages

All activities are completely free of charge and include:

• 1 to 3 p.m. — a scavenger hunt at New Paltz Youth Program, located at 220 Main Street in New Paltz.

• 1 to 4 p.m. — “Fun Fest” with origami, crafts, circus arts and more for ages six and up, located at the New Paltz Community Center, 3 Veterans Drive.

 • 3 to 4 p.m. — holiday story and craft hour for 3-5 year olds at the Elting Library, 93 Main Street.

• 4 to 5 p.m. — “Story Magic” with professional storyteller, Lorraine Hartin-Gelardi, in the community room at the Elting Library.

• 5 to 7 p.m. — dinner with continuous serving at the New Paltz United Methodist Church, corner of Grove and Main streets. The menu includes a selection of chili (beef, turkey and vegetarian), baked ziti, salad, rice, cornbread, dessert (gluten-free available) and beverages.

• 6:30 to 7 p.m. Bring your movie coupon to New Paltz Cinema and exchange it for a ticket to watch any show of your choice playing that evening. To get a movie coupon, attend any of the New Paltz Eve festivities and receive a special “one-night-only” coupon for a free movie ticket at New Paltz Cinema that evening only. Meet the volunteer at the box office between 6:30 and 7 p.m. to redeem your coupon. Limit one ticket per person, while supplies last.

For additional information, call (845) 256-5014 or visit newpaltzeve.org.
