Library trustees and the public will get their first look at proposals and models for a new library building at presentations August 25 at the Mescal Hornbeck Community Center.
Out of 12 architecture firms who answered a request for proposals, trustees chose three finalists to make presentations. Each received $5000 to present a design concept and model.
The schedule is as follows:
9 a.m. — Brad Will of Ashokan Architecture in Kingston
10:30 a.m. — Janet Null of Argus Architecture in Troy
Noon — Stephen Tully Architecture, Dobbs Ferry
Each presentation is expected to run an hour and 15 minutes and will include a PowerPoint presentation and model with questions from an architectural consultant and trustees and selected questions from the audience. Participants are encouraged to bring a bag lunch.
Questions not answered during the event will be forwarded to the architects and the answers will be posted on the library website, woodstock.org.
The three presentations will be recorded and posted to the library’s YouTube channel and rebroadcast on public access Channel 23.
The public will have another chance to voice input during a dedicated Public Be Heard meeting at the library on September 13 at 7 p.m.
