A talk on medical marijuana for seniors will be held Thursday, March 29 from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at the Kingston Library Community Room, 55 Franklin St.
Pharmacist Sang Choi, dispensary director of the downstate region of Etain Health, will discuss the benefits of medical marijuana and its uses and effects in certain disease states, with particular emphasis on those affecting the senior population. The presentation will be followed by an open Q&A session. The presentation will be geared towards the needs of seniors, and it is open to the public. There is no fee.
The presentation is organized by Kingston SSIP (Settled and Serving in Place), one of several SSIP groups in Ulster County and affiliated with the local chapter of the American Association of University Women. Their mission is the mutual support of members who wish to remain living at home and retain autonomy as they age, through social interaction, communications and advocacy. Kingston SSIP members meet weekly for breakfast, they organize informal social events, keep each other informed about local issues and events of interest and support each other as needed.
