Operation SOS (Support Our Service people) will prepare packages of comfort items for members of the American military deployed to combat/hostile areas on Tuesday, March 20 at 3 p.m. at the Senior Center on Market St. in Saugerties. Packages will reach their recipients in time for Easter on Sunday, April 1. The public is invited to drop off comfort items to include in the packages at 2:30 p.m. Donations may also be dropped off at Krause’s on Partition St., Saugerties, until March 19. Operation SOS has been providing support to members of the military since 2003. The nonprofit organization is fully volunteer-run and there is no charge for packages.
