New Paltz Town Board members have appointed Eli Duncan-Gilmour as an alternate member of the New Paltz Town Planning Board. Under New Paltz town law, alternate members only participate if a regular member has a conflict of interest regarding a specific application.
Duncan-Gilmour, a high school senior, has spoken several times at village Planning Board meetings; his father serves as planner for the village government as well.
Ray Lunati, an alternate for two years, unsuccessfully sought reappointment to the position, as council members unanimously chose Duncan-Gilmour.
