Poughkeepsie’s Celebration of Lights Parade & Fireworks happens this Friday, December 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the streets of downtown. The 24th annual celebration of its kind is conducted in conjunction with the Bardavon, located at 35 Market Street, which will be showing Rob Reiner’s classic 1987 film The Princess Bride after the celebration at 8 p.m. All seats cost $6. A mini-concert on the theater’s mighty Wurlitzer organ take place 30 minutes before the film. For more information, visit www.bardavon.org.
