This morning at 9:31 a.m., Saugerties Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on John Joy Rd.
Police said a 2009 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck with a trailer attached, driven by Carl L. Miles, 65, of Saugerties, was traveling south when the truck veered across the northbound lane onto the shoulder, striking a tree before going over and down the embankment. Miles was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only occupant of the vehicle.
Police detectives are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.
