Lynyrd Skynyrd came at country from the rock side; Hank Williams, Jr. came at rock from the country. On Saturday, August 26, the two titans meet in the middle at the Bethel Center for the Arts. Still featuring one original member in guitarist Gary Rossington, the Skynrd complete lineup is no joke; most of the players have been onboard for years and years.
“People may say, ‘they need the money,’ well I don’t think any of us need the money,” singer Johnny Van Zant says. “It’s just that we love the music, it’s bigger than the money, it’s not even about that any more. We have to make a living, sure, but it’s about the legacy of Lynyrd Skynyrd, and what it stands for, what the fans are all about. There’s nothing like getting out there playing a great show with Skynyrd and seeing people love this music.”
The show begins at 8 p.m. Reserved seats range from $76.50 – $127.50. Lawn admission costs $38.50. For tickets and more information, visit http://www.bethelwoodscenter.org. The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is located at 200 Hurd Road in Bethel.
