Superintendent Maria Rice and the New Paltz Central School District Board of Education welcome Gregory Warren as the district’s new Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics. A meet and greet, co-sponsored by the district and the New Paltz Athletic Association, has been scheduled for Monday, August 7 at 5 p.m. in the district office conference room at Lenape Elementary School. Parents, students and community members are invited to come meet Warren and welcome him to the district.

Warren, the current president of the New York State Council of Administrators for Health and Physical Education, comes to New Paltz from the Bainbridge-Guilford Central School District, where he served as athletic director, dean of student, and chief information officer. His previous experience includes working as an athletic director and physical education teacher in the Baltimore City Schools.

Warren received a Bachelor of Science in physical education from SUNY Brockport and a Master of Education in adapted physical education/special education from Coppin State University. He also holds an Advanced Graduate Certificate in educational leadership from Stony Brook University.

Warren is looking forward to his new position. “I’m excited to be part of the New Paltz team, and I look forward to meeting and working with members of the community,” he said.
