A 16-year employee of the town Buildings and Grounds Department has been charged with felony fourth-degree grand larceny after, town police said, he admitted stealing $1,000 in cash from a safe at the Kiwanis Ice Arena.
According to police, Barry E. Mower Jr. turned himself on June 9 after being contacted about the ongoing police investigation, which began two days earlier, into a large sum stolen from the safe kept in the building’s admissions office.
After processing, Mower was released on his own recognizance, police said. He is scheduled to return to the Town of Saugerties Court at a later date.
