Belfiglio to run for Esopus supervisor

After serving several terms as a county legislator from District 8 in Esopus, Republican Carl Belfiglio announced today that he will run for town supervisor in the November election instead of running for another legislative term. Belfiglio has served on a number of legislature committees during his tenure therend is presently majority whip, third in the GOP legislative chain of command. He serves on the Ways and Means and Rules committees and is deputy chair of the Government Efficiency Committee. He has also been active in UCAN, the county’s anti-drug task force.

Belfiglio previously served on the town board in Esopus. He lives in Port Ewen with his wife Annmarie.

The legislator said he looked forward to “working hard if elected to continue a job well done by the past two supervisors.” In the statement announcing his candidacy, he expressed the thought that “there is opportunity to improve our town’s economic position as a top Hudson River Town destination.”

Belfiglio is employed as a computer network specialist for the Mid-Hudson Regional Information Center.
