A local healthcare provider and a major regional insurer have settled a contract dispute that threatened to disrupt health services for hundreds of area residents.
Last week, officials at CDPHP announced that they had reached a new contract agreement with Dutchess County-based Health Quest, parent company of Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Northern Dutchess Hospital and Putnam Hospital Center. Last month, 400 Health Quest patients received notice that if the companies were unable to reach a new contract agreement by April 18, they would need to seek new care providers no later than May 18. The dispute involved reimbursement rates for hospitalization, home health services.
CDPHP spokeswoman Deanna Amore said that with the new agreement in place, there will be no disruption in service for Health Quest patients or changes in services covered. “It’s business as usual,” said Amore.
